The Fog Essay

Alex lay frozen stiff in bed listening to the horrible sounds coming from the ocean. Exactly a year ago something disastrous happened; he and his Mum were fishing out on the ocean when suddenly out of nowhere, fog started enclosing his Mum from every direction suffocating her until all of a sudden… She disappeared into thin air. A dark haunting shadow suddenly flew across the window distracting Alex from his train of thought. Alex scared to death, rapidly climbed out of bed and ran to the window telling the cool breeze touch his face. HIS eyes caught a glimpse to what he thought was his Mum in the far distance.

The figure looked exactly like the one he had just seen pass his window. He kept observing the figure, watching its every move until all of a sudden it turned its head and looked directly at him. Their eyes locked together; they stayed staring at each other for a while until Alex heard a haunting voice. It said “Alex, it’s me your Mums spirit, come down to the ocean and do what we’ve down every year, fish! “. Alex quickly changed into his clothes then tip-toed down the stairs toward the door and out Into the cold misty night. He quietly ran to the garage making sure not to make any sudden noise that would wake up his tester arenas.

Alex heaved open the garage door with a creek and walked inside dodging all the spider-webs that looked like they had been there for quite some time, He saw the dinghy and some old rusty fishing rods, he lifted up the fishing rods and gently placed them down onto the dinghy. With a heavy push, he managed to get the dinghy out of the garage and onto the damp grass. He gently closed the garage door then without any hesitation lifted up the dinghy and dragged it Into the darkness… Morning arrived, Alex woke up with a fright, he had accidentally fallen asleep in the sand.

He slowly stood back up and dusted all the sand off him until finally he heaved the dinghy into the blue sparkling water. Alex clambered onboard then with only a slight push of his oars he was off into the deepness of the ocean… As Alex oared deeper and deeper into the ocean he found the right spot to fish. As he came too quick halt he grabbed one of the old fishing rods then sat there waiting patiently for a fish to tug. Minutes passed by and still he sat there waiting and walling until suddenly little ripples started emerging In the water. The ripples started to get bigger and bigger… L to a sudden a huge shark erupted out of the water; scaring the death out of Alex. Alex without thinking let go of the oars and covered his head not daring to move. With a big splash the shark plunged into the water, never to be seen again. As Alex sat there with his mouth wide open he realized this was not the best place to fish. He went to grab his oars but they weren’t there. Alex looked up and in the distance he saw something floating on the water, It looked like pieces of wood… Oh no those were his oars! Alex tried to hold ;n his tears as best as he could but he couldn’t.

He knew e was stranded on the water and he had no idea what he was going to do. Tears were running down his face like waterfalls, he yelled and yelled “HELP ME” but there was no response… Nothing at all. Alex sat helplessly in his dinghy wishing he had stayed at home, he hoped something miraculous would happen that he would be found, but nothing happened. Nothing ‘ Off remembered the fog from last year when his mother disappeared and he knew that this was the moment he would disappear. More and more fog came until everything went still… The only noise to be heard was the soft ripples of the water………
