What makes Art Essay

Art can be viewed In so many different ways. It’s been said the eyes are the gateway to the soul. Many people debate who actually should lay claim to this beautiful statement. It’s not surprising when you hear the names associated with the statement, Shakespeare, Leonardo Advancing, Milton, Hiram Powers and Ralph Wald Emerson all great artists. I’m also fan of the statement “beauty is in the eyes of the beholder”. Though none of the above artists get credit for the statement, I think It’s a statement that every artist can agree upon.

I believe In both these statements. When I think of art I have a very open mind. Everything around us Is art, the car design, the different types of music, the way a playground is designed, and even the way a Civil War stone wall was built to keep Invaders at bay and is offset by a huge oak tree is art through my eyes. I feel different emotions depending on the art that I’m looking at when it comes to the art around us in everyday life. The beautiful car will bring out a different emotion than the Civil War stone wall.

Although I know everything around s can be considered art and I look at It that way, traditional I think of art as the great painters, sculptures, and poets. The Renaissance period would probably have the greatest influence on what I call art, especially the Italy period. The first thing that comes to mind when someone ask me about art is I think of Michelangelo painting of the Sistine Chapel or the statue David. Then we have Leonardo dad Vinci, Mona Lisa or The Last Supper. There were so many great artiest come out of the Italian Renaissance period (Raphael, Donated, etc. O many to mention. I’m Inspired by the detail of their work, the time and effort that went Into these remarkable works of art. Other qualities that appeal to me are the religion implications of that time period. I believe seeing the works up close and personal has helped impact my judgment. Living in Italy, it’s hard not to see works of art everywhere. Just walking down any street in Italy you are surrounded by a beauty architecture structure or a prolific mosaic on the wall. The Renaissance period seem to be more formal quality ND detail body of work.

I still love the works of Picasso Violin, Monet use of OLL paints In sunrise and Vincent Van Gogh starry Night. When I look at works of art from Leonardo Dad Vinci or Michelangelo I’m astounded by the beauty of their work. When I look at Picasso, Monet and Van Gogh, I tend to feel what the artist might have been feeling at the time he painted or drew his art. When I look at Motet’s painted Sunrise I feel calm, and Van Gogh Starry Night maybe the world is not always what it seems to be at any given time.

As we travel through life you can see the changes In the world by the artists around us. In the Renaissance we see a more formal way or straight forward way of living. Today, we might see art work as being more modern with the advancements of technology or just the times we live in, but one thing is unquestionable art is always perceived differently in the eyes of the beholder.
